Meet Erika

Erika Rácz grew up among the vines in the village of Erdobenye in Tokaj, one of the oldest wine regions in Europe.

She did not start her career as a winemaker. She went into international business, traveled the world, ran big projects and led large teams (sounds familiar?). 

But the old family vineyards were calling her and she built a small winery from scratch against and under a little hill. There, she works with Furmint and Hárslevelű, the native grapes of Tokaj. Her wines are precise, elegant, full of fire and character - just like Erika herself.

She wants her wines to taste like Tokaj, with its long summers, its misty mornings, its volcanic soils and its people, who are shy at first but exuberant one palinka later.

Erika is the first female winemaker I partnered with, and this is the first NR entirely made by women - I say you taste it in the wine, but then again, I am biased.
