NR1 + NR2 - EMI & ANI

NR1 and NR2 are the first wines of Nova Radix’ founders, Emi and Anneleen (aka Ani).

Emi has been at the forefront of the Argentinian winemaking revolution, working alongside the Michelini brothers in search of the most authentic expression of grapes in the Argentinean terroir. He currently is the oenologist at Chateau d’Ancon, one of the oldest wineries in the Uco Valley. He has a passion for native grapes and believes in the power of Argentinean Criollas.

Anneleen is a lawyer-turned-sommelier and while lawyering for a large direct-to-consumer business, learned the ropes of service and wine pairings in a restaurant in Brussels, Belgium. She obtained her WSET Diploma in 2023. She is on a mission to have people appreciate the diversity of wines that exist in the world, and has a fondness for wines made from lesser-known native grapes.

Anneleen & Emi met in Mendoza, Argentina during the 2024 harvest, and quickly bonded over their passion for wine that speaks to the terroir, indigenous grapes and the special energy and tension that one inexplicably finds in wines made in a natural way with a purpose.

When they had the chance to buy local Criollas from a beautiful abandoned old vines vineyard, they did not hesitate. They harvested the grapes themselves with the help of friends and turned them into a white and red wine through spontaneous fermentation with as little intervention as possible.
